Alright people I'm looking at buying a PC Im totally new too all this. my first plans on getting a PC were to edit videos and maybe do abit of streaming from my ps4 now I'm kind of feeling having a little dabble into abit of gaming on it also. Here is the thing I'm on a budget of £600 and I need to get a monitor included in my budget. Can anyone recommend a PC that is capable of doing these things one of the games I'm up for trying is the new doom am I dreaming of getting a build with in my budget? I do have a mate who is in the know of putting PCs together so if anyone can recommend a build list or complete unit that would be great thanks.

To meet the recommended requirements for Doom you'll need to spend at least £600 on the rig alone. Providing you're happy playing on lower graphics settings it's possible.

£600 is a hard budget to stay in while looking at the specs of Doom.
Ive went over youre budget as a start point but you could try shaving bits off but ive tried to penny pinch where I could.
cheap case, keyboard and mouse, no dvd drive, by the time you add the monitor and a copy of windows it goes over youre budget.
as tacticalfish says you really need to spend £600 on the rig alone

jbh's build looks about as good as you're going to get for the money.
I looked at his budget it is a tough one.

My thoughts with the FX8350 is he would like to do a bit of video editing and streaming so the 8 core would benefit him for this.
Plus for doom the minimum cpu are i5 2400 or FX 8320 where as the FX 8350 comes in for recommended but is only £20 dearer than the FX 8320.. to me I would spend the extra few quid there but if he wanted that's one way of saving £20

Thanks for the advise guys maybe I should leave the gaming side of it and just try and build a PC mainly being capable of video editing and streaming as I was really pushed at £600 anyway I really only want to spend about £500 all in so if any of u kind people could suggest a good build for everything for around £500 capable of streaming and video editing that would be great thanks ;-)

for video editing and streaming to do it where you wont be pulling your hair out you are still looking for something about the spec above IMO minus the graphics card.

you could wait to you have got some more spare cash together then build it. or look for something like above but 2nd hand on the auction site or on the sticky tree site as then you could get something around that spec hopefully on budget.

personally I would preffer building a system with new parts as that way you know you have warranty. plus you then know its history.

not to far off budget. you could add a better gpu through time and get playing games.

ive dropped out the ssd and added a standard HDD to save some cash you could add an ssd as a system drive later.
Ive also used a cheaper board not as nice looking as the previous one but still functions the same.
dropped down to 8gb of ram for video editing you would be better with 16gb but 8gb would still do.
also used the 8320 rather than the 8350 still gives you 8 cores for video editing.
used a cheaper cooler again you could use the stock AMD cooler but for video editing the CPU would be worked hard so better with an aftermarket cooler IMO

again no dvd drive to penny pinch but again you can add one through time.
it would be a good wee system and leaves room for some upgrades to turn it into a nice budget gaming system.

Thank you very much for the time u have put into putting this together for me I appreciate it. I'm guessing the 2nd build will do the job better than any PC I buy from PC world for around the same money. Also on the 2nd build do I need to add a case into the build? Thanks

Sorry I just seen there is a case there my bad for being blind ;-)
no worries yea there's a case there. a cheap and cheerful one but one there.

yea looking on there site within youre budget with you needing a complete set up IE monitor, keyboard and mouse you wouldnt get anything close for the money.

the big problem with a lot of branded prebuilt machines are they arent easily upgradeable.

I remember years ago my mate asked me to fit somthing to his machine and you could see where the pci slots should have been on the board but they had been removed or never fitted to the board.

not sure if the newer pre built branded machines are like this but I know there bios can be very limited in terms of overclocking.

the 2nd build would be able to be overclocked slightly to increase its performance and as I say you could add a better graphics card through time which would let you play doom.

if you can spend the extra yea go for it. the 8350 is clocked higher at stock and will overclock better if you do decide to overclock.

I had some good results from my old 8350 and it overclocked well. but even at stock it was good.

for a budget machine you wont go wrong. Im now running a i5 4690k but they are a lot more expensive than the AMD stuff.

the R9 270X is a good card. its showing as unavailable though.

Sounds good thanks for all your help. I didn't realise that gfx card was unavailable but if u could get one would it fit in the build properly and work sorry if I seem like I'm going on abit but like I said I'm totally new to all of this but I have a mate who is happy to help me build it. Thanks
