PC Build Suggestions for WoW MoP?

Hi guys!

I was wondering if you could please help with suggesting a PC build that will max WoW MoP. My budget is £600 (is it even possible with this budget?) but I can go a small amount over that if it is something I absolutely must have.

I have all the accessories like keyboard, monitor, mouse etc and I already have the operating system (my current PC has finally died). So all I need really is the tower and everything inside.

Any help from you guys would be amazing,

Many thanks in advance,

Do you raid? If so, nothing will max WoW at 60fps in a 25 man raid.
I have a 2500K @ 4.6GHz and a GTX670 and I can't max WoW in a 25 man raid.

Unfortunately, the graphics engine in WoW is really old but they've tacked on things like volumetric shadows and SSAO badly and so even a monster rig will chug with everything on Ultra in a raid.

My only advice is to buy the most overclockable CPU you can a max it. WoW loves CPU cycles. Graphics card is less important unless you are gaming and very high or Eyefinity resolutions.

As Rilot mentioned, WoW is very very CPU dependent and so you're definitely better off going the Intel route there. In addition for whatever reason the WoW engine seems to favour NVidia graphics cards over AMD as well so probably worth looking at the Green Team for graphics.

As already said WOW is CPU heavy so Id look to intel. You say your pc has died, is any of it usable? What GPU, ram etc did you have?

Hi guys,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. Unfortunately you will all probably hate me for saying this but I really don't know much about the PC im using. My bro gave me the PC long ago after he upgraded, im looking to start afresh with a brand new setup.

Are any of the pre built set-ups on the overclockers website worth investing in such as the "Titan Ghost Warhawk" or "Liberator X6"? they are within my budget.

Thanks again

It would be better & cheaper to build your own, save some money to spend on components and it's also fun - more customisable too

Thanks for the response mate, ill try the route of building my own then :)

If its not too much trouble would somebody be able to post a basket of what pc build they would recommend please?

Thanks in advance for spending the time to do it, I truly appreciate it.

Intel, worse GPU, largely better CPU

From what others have said I'm going to guess the intel route would be better for WoW? I'm willing to go for which ever you would suggest performs better. Iv also heard people swear by a SSD?

Yep, I've included an SSD in both. I'd go with the Intel build, maybe drop that GPU until you can afford to get an R9 270X or maybe higher. In the mean time I'd better the mobo + cooler

xD No problem, thought you were referring to my specs - maybe someone else will tweak them if they want :)

Dayum, 89p! :D Yeah, ice probably got the better SSD and psu, combine the two and bob's your uncle.
