Hi guy's, Just want to start with a thank you if you are able to read through the above and let me know what you think. If it looks all good then I'm pretty much ready to go a head with and order everything that was listed above. If you think I have missed something out then I'd really appreciate it if you let me know.

Thanks again!

Alex.

Hi,

Looks ok,

There is a CPU+board bundle - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-020-GI&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=2858

The RAM doesnt have XMP i read somewhere so you would have to manually set it up to the correct speed+timings.

The case 5.25" bays are vertical, maybe disks might fall out of the drive tray? do you even need a DVD drive?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind me asking what is "XMP"? And would it be a difficult thing to do?

As for the DVDRW I just wanted it incase of installing drivers or the OS as well.

Would there be any other RAM you could suggest that I could simply plug in and go?

Thanks in advance.

XMP is data the RAM contains, the board can read this and set the multiplier and timings and voltages or whatever correctly, so you get the rated speed from it.

You go into the BIOS, usually the memeory section, load the XMP profile and save+exit.

Kingston DDR4 Fury RAM has XMP and also a feature where it sets it up for you apparently, you dont have to do a thing.
