pc clock loosing time

The clock on my pc has just started going funny, turned it on this afternoon and it looks like the clock stopped sometime last night.

Is there some sort of internal battery ?

The CMOS Battery on the moherboard should keep the clock going after a power off. of maybe some of the BIO's settings have been changed?

Not sure about average life. I replaced my CMOS battery when my relatives clock froze and now its fine.

They all seem to be the same, it should be your bulk standard watch batery you can get from currys/dicsons.
I think the average like is between 3 and 5 yrs.

mostly,
look for the silver coin thing,
pull it out (..resets bios)
look for the code on the side
go to jewellers/chemist
about £3.00
