I've just put some new hardware in to my pc. A 3570k cpu and an msi r9 380 gpu. It seemed to be working fine for about a week but now i'm getting some issues.
I was getting blue screens saying i had hardware errors and i suspected it was due to overheating. My cpu was reaching temps of around 65C. I'm not sure if that's excessively hot or not. I've managed to get that down to about 55C under load. I'm haven't had a blue screen since but i'm getting these freezes where the i have to hold down the power button to turn it off because nothing else will work.

Do you have any suggestions where to start looking to solve this issue? I'm using a gigabyte z77-d3h motherboard. 8gb of fairly old ram and a corsair cx600 psu. I'm running windows 10 64 bit. Cheers Guys.

What are the exact messages you are getting on the blue screens? When you installed the new CPU did you check the voltage was set correctly in the BIOS? Is it running at stock voltage/multiplier speed? I would check this as well as run memory tests and scan your hard disk for errors as a number of different things could be causing this..

I wasn't able to copy down the full message in time unfortunately and the last couple of times it's just been these freezes. I know the message said hardware failure. I didn't check the voltage was set but i've checked it now and some info is provided in the image links below. What kind of memory tests do you mean and how would i go about running them? I reinstalled windows earlier today as it wasn't too much hassle as I have very little on the computer at the moment. I didn't erase everything on my drives though, do you think that might be necessary?

Thanks again.

I went in to bios and reset it to optimized defaults. I then go not input to my monitors, it didn't even show up on my monitor as no input signal found. I reset the cmos and had no luck. Could this mean my motherboard is the issue?

Just unplugged the power to my gpu and removed one of the sticks of ram and i now get output on my monitor... I'm confused

Changed my PCI ROM Priority to Legacy ROM and plugged my gpu back in and that's working now still on one stick of RAM. I'll see how long it takes to crash.

I'm using a Corsair CX600 PSU. I think there are bios update, I read that it was risky to do... Is this true or just people being overly cautious?

Ok, I just updated my bios to the latest version. Had some issues finding my operating system as it's not on the drive that I thought it was on. I'll see if the issue continues.
