pc components you regret getting rid of.

Not a really a component, but these two peripherals:

Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 Optical

and

Razer Boomslang

Best two mice I ever owned, because there was nothing else like them at the time. I probably wouldn't go back to a boomslang now (as it's a gaming ball mouse) but I'd still consider buying that Intellimouse V2 Explorer again as it was so comfy to use.

I got rid of my gaming PC a few years ago and bought a Mac, oh how I regretted it!

Was a Q6600, 8800GTX has took me till now to manage to build a new one

Only thing I can think of is my old slot-loading dvd drive. We all had one, and they were awesome. For some reason manufacturers went back to the draw loading design when DVD writers came around.

That and my old IBM mechanical keyboard.

non, they served there purpose, became obsolete, & where then sold on to fund the pursuit of yet more shiney kit. tis the technological circle of life don't you know. :p

I never get rid of anything still working, at the last round up of components I realized I was only 2 sticks of ddr2 ram short of a entire spare pc [In addition to my old Win98 pc that's still in one piece]. I do miss my late lamented 22" CRT monitor though.

I had an amazing case with a motherboard tray that would slide out. It meant you could connect everything up, put the cpu cooler on and put the tray back in the case...so much easier.

I don't know why they don't do this more.

I also miss my gameport sidewinder force feedback steering wheel and pedals.

The thing I most regret was selling my amiga with everything (games, joystick, magazines) in order to fund a 28k modem. The magazines I really miss giving away.
