Pc crash with sound loop - then reboot cycle

Wonder if anyone can help?

Sometimes when i am playing games the screen will freeze or go black with a sound loop and I have to hard boot my pc.

Then the pc gets stuck in a power cycle, where the mobo lights up and all fans come on but it then reboots itself again before POST. This continues until I remove the power lead for a few minutes and then it will boot up again fine.

I have run memtest all night with no error and also Prime95 for 6 hours with no errors in both.

Any ideas?

People say that its an issue caused by PunkBuster, if you use the search function, look for bad company 2 sound loop or bad company 2 crash .etc and you should be able to find the solution, sorry im lazy.

It's not just Afterburner it's also Fraps, Gigabyte Easytune, Aida (I think), GPU-z. Basically anything that monitors, logs or reports things like GPU temps, usage and things.

Real pain this BC2/Punkbuster issue.

As for the power up issue maybe it's triggered by the crash as it is a full hardware lock.

I had random boot issues with Corsair XMS3 memory (missing sticks, reboot loops and reboot after first cold boot etc). A lot of googling indicated others have had the same problems. After switching to another brand all the issues disappeared. It's only anecdotal evidence, but worth considering.
