PC crashes under load, where can the fault lie?

Hi all, need help diagnosing an issue with my brothers PC. The PC goes unresponsive and the screen blank when under load.

I built 2 identical PCs at the time for each of my brothers. The other brothers PC works fine under load - I ran prime 95 and it did not crash at all under load, so I suspect all his components are fine.

On the 'broken pc' - well I changed the PSU, and tried the RAM sticks individually and it still crashes under load.

Does it mean the motherboard or CPU is to blame here? the pc has never been overclocked and only ever run at stock / default settings.

at work cant access the site properly will do when home. from memory its an AMD A8 APU with a gigabyte FM2 micro ATX mobo, and 2 x 4gb Kingston RAM

no its an identical corsair modular 430w one - which was fine under load in Prime95 on my 2nd brothers PC, which is an identical PC to the one with the problem. They both have exactly the same components.
 
Usually you can see what the problem is by swapping components one at a time. As you have two identical builds available this is perfect, you're almost guaranteed to find the problem that way.

That said - are any settings changed on the failing build e.g. overclocking?
