I fancy picking myself up one of these consoles since it's one of the ones I never owned when younger, only thing is looking around there are a few different types: Core Grafx, super grafx, turbo grafx, white ones, black ones, ones with cd players, handheld ones, etc.

Surely someone here must know a thing or two, so which is the version to go for, I've seen a jap core grafx on ebay for £18, yay? nay?

Fancy a bit of chase HQ and New zealand story, the hucards seem cheap enough, just confused about the actual machines.

cheers!

I had one of the white pc engines for a while about 15 years ago, great little machine, a lot of jap text to get round though. The turbo express handheld looks awesome, I always wanted one. These days I think you can play it all on your GBA with the right homebrew.

Best games I can remember were Motoroader, Fire Pro, Son Son, New Zeland Story.

It's one of the only consoles I've owned that I sold (for a megadrive), now i'm off to the bay. :D

Had the standard PCEngine with CDROM and the GT when i was younger... actually i'm pretty sure i've still got them somewhere. At the time they were amazing.

Find them ;)

I bid on a GT a while back but auctions always seem to end while I'm at work :(

I'm going to go on a handheld machine frenzy I think :)

wait for the Wii and get the games on the Classic Arcade (or whatever it is called) :)

Bah! Your one of those people, wait for the remakes and lose all the experience and problems of the original machine. ;)

Part of the fun of retro games is how big and clunky the actual machines can be, it isn't seriously going to be as good with a wireless all singing and dancing controller in my opinion. I'm looking forward to it but sometimes its just better to play it as it was designed. :)

Hopefully I'll get a few people in agreement. :o

Absolutely amazing really some of the games available on the PC Engine and the clearness of the graphics - it's an incredibly powerful 8-bit machine!

I was still playing my White PC Engine up until I moved out about 6 months ago when it got busted in the move :( :(

My brother managed to drop his end of my leather sofa when we where setting up the lounge & it landed on the box with the Engine & games in, I now have a slightly smashed White Core that wont boot anything :(

He's offered to replace it but trying to find a good condition (Not yellowed) one with the Scart mod which mine had for a reasonable price is like rocking horse poo.

I'm tempted to just get a mk2 Grey Core instead & try to get it modded instead, I'm beginning to miss Splatter House, Batman, Street fighter 2 (Best version EVER!!) & R-Type a bit too much now.

Although having said that I might give up on buying a 360 for a while longer & put the money towards a Duo RX instead :D :D

Just a shame they had to put it on 2 Hu-Cards cause it was such a big game...still it was almost arcade perfect :)

Still completley rock solid now as well, somedays I just cant get off that first level :o
