My PC failed and didn't seem to want to spin the GFX fan, I have since tested the GFX in another PC and bought a new PSU (it was much easier to blame the PSU and buy a new one than pull one out of another PC)
Still no go. The PSU fan spins up, (the CPU fan also spins, but this is powered from the PSU, not the motherboard).
I've pulled out the GFX, drives and now also the RAM. There is supposed to be a fault code on two 7-segment displays in the corner, nothing lights up.
As I switch the PSU off, I get a little whiff of life from LED1 on the motherboard, the manual doesn't state what this is, but it's probably supposed to be on all the time.

Any suggestions? At the moment I'm looking at binning the mobo, 2500K CPU and 4x4GB DDR3 :(

Does look like your motherboard is faulty the other thing is it could be the cpu only way is to grab the cheapest cpu you can find for your motherboard.

You can pick up a a g620 or g645 cpu for about £8 on the bay at least it will give you a definative answer and if your lucky enough that it is the cpu then time to decide what to do.

I've not had good experiences with the bay for PC parts :(
I'm inclined to believe the mobo is the problem due to the lack of LEDs lighting, plus I've killed plenty of mobos but never a CPU.
This isn't my primary PC, I use it for data acquisition and running game servers, so it's not the biggest concern on the planet, but I do miss it already :(
Jan 2011 I bought the CPU and mobo, from here, naturally. Time to have a play with Ryzen perhaps (especially if I can find something that supports 4x DDR3...)
