pc failing to boot into windows

set everything up, such as your preffered boot device, date time, ram timings/voltage if you know them etc (not needed if your not overclocking, but i do regardless so i know everything is running how the manufacture wanted it).

you should only really need to flash your bios if you are having serious problems, it doesnt sound like you need to if it just happened recently, if you do flash be very careful though as you can fluff your pc!

if its working now, just install windows and your usual stuff ;)

it could aye, if theres not enough power been drawn from the battery when needed.

if this happens again you can get them pretty cheap and you can rule that out.

i thought my advice would save a lot of time and effort tbh.

depends on the person, but in the time i would spend fixing something, i could have earnt enough money to replace it entirely.

I'd be tempted to strip it back to just the mobo/cpu cooler at this stage.

Then reconnect the bare bones to see what happens.

IF that works, connect everything else bit by bit.

no wont post...thing is the thing will boot run windows and work fine..then you reboot or switch it off and then next time it wont...may try 20/30 times and then it will again as if nothings wrong...very odd but as above been trying to fix it for over a week of evenings even replaced the hard drive as i thought it was have boot issue because of that...but its even failing to post into bios when it fails so i,m not sure where to go..even fails to boot a recovery cd etc..think it must be an intermittent motherboard fault..

yes, but for me atleast i try to solve the problems rather then replace them. if you can fix it its still going to be quicker/cheaper then buying new ;)

to add the the OP, the tower is not in a damp cold room is it like a attic or something??
