ok so today I was playing with solidworks when it locked up.
After hitting the reset button I got overclock failed in post, I haven't properly attempted OCing yet I just selected the performance configuration in ez bios, it has also locked up while playing rage

Setting it to normal it now fails to boot first time hope this is not going to be an arse to oc

specs
cpu- i5 2500k
mobo- asus P8Z68-V
gpu-MSI 6950 Twin frozr 3
ram- 2x 4gb kingston hyper x

oh and before this I have been getting cpu fan error on post screen although both cpu fans are spinning

in bios its showing the rpm fluctuating from 600 to 609 rpm

I take it your of reset was reset to default in the bios and not in the oc app in windows??
yes it was in bios

.legitreviews.comit has been on performance setting since being built beginning of November. Only been experiencing problems with the oc since installing the twin frozr earlier this month, when playing rage was experiencing flashing triangle like objects and occasional lock up so I reverted back to normal oc mode.

the new catalyst update fixed the game play issue so I went back to performance mode

I think its possesed, it boots up fine now. Although I'm getting cpu fan error every now and then and I am getting annoyed by all the admin privilge needed windows eveytime I turn the pc on
