I'm building my own PC first time and that it why I wanted to double check whith you guys whether the hardware I chose would work together. My budget is no more then 1050 pounds because I need to buy monitor and keyboard as well as pay for the work.

Are you a student ?
If so you can get Windows 7 Pro 64 bit for £30 which saves you a fair bit.
An F3 harddrive would perform better.
That CPU cooler isnt too great, better ones available like the Megahalems or Nordwand.
That case is really quite crummy. Done a few builds in them and would not want to couple high end components with it ever.

hm... my friend has the same case and he didn't say anything bad about it

about windows 7 where and how can I buy it for 30 pounds? Do you know?

Its a budget case that has just soared in price. Airflow is pretty mediore. Its very leaky (which means any noise in the case comes straight out). Theres little/no cable management. Considering the price of the rest of the components its just massively out of place.

You have to have a vaild university email address. Search 'Windows 7 student ultimate steal'.

Ok if I was to consider this one, would it be better?

The i7 is much better in 3D creation apps - well all the ones Ive used. Exactly which 3D apps does OP use?
The 5850 wont pose much of an advantage either - if any at all.
Are Antec power supplies any good?
The coolermaster cooler seems an odd choice.
RAMs a step in the wrong direction too.
and its overbudget when you factor in an OS, even if OP can get it for £30.

alterna88, that case is better. This is still my fav choice around that budget - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-145-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=29

Hi, I use 3D software too and i'm about to build a new PC myself.
The following build is assuming you can get the student version of windows.

The Silverstone case is a good choice because it has great CPU cooling and sound proofing so with the Noctua cooler you can leave it rendering overnight and not be kept awake. :)

This is more, what I would get with your budget but hopefully it gives you some ideas. Wasn't sure if you wanted shipping included in the £1050.

I'm pretty sure the 260 takes a hell of a lot more power than the 5850. If you're looking for low power then perhaps a 5770? Or a 5670 if they are actually being released?

thank you...
Another question which monitor would be the best choice? I'll have no more then 100 pounds to spend on it...

Thats an upgrade version this is a new PC the £30 one wont be valid.

Nah, if i remember correctly it was a choice between a Home Premium full version or a Professional upgrade?

There are plenty of free OSes if it's that much of a fuss...

because I need to buy monitor and keyboard as well as pay for the work.

What do you mean by this? Are you paying someone to assemble it for you

Second, what do you mean by 3D work? Some analogue of photoshop which I haven't heard of, or something in autocad/pro engineer?

My computer is purpose built for 3D work. As such the specification might be helpful for you, might be possible to get it within budget.

i7 920 @ 4ghz
6gb corsair ram @ 1600mhz c8
gigabyte ud5
evga 8800gt flashed to fx3700 to make quadro drivers play nice
pc p&c psu
samsung f1 750gb
akasa omega
water

It rips through everything except for chains interacting with sprockets, which is apparently more calculations than it's prepared to deal with.
