My g/f son is a console player that wants a PC that he can play Rust on with his mates. Ive had a look at what I have spare already and I just need a motherboard and RAM, does this look ok? is a 500w PSU enough for this older GPU kitguru says it uses 240w under load EDit.. and all the load calculators say im over 500w. so I guess its eather new GPU like RX590 or new PSU?

MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX AM4 mATX Motherboard £63.48
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16 GB £57

Already have the below spare & the gpu should fit with 14mm to spare!
Ryzen 5 1400
R9 290 Sapphire Tri-X
120gb & 240gb SSD
Silverstone SX500-G PSU
Silverstone PS15 MATX CASE

That psu only launched a couple of years ago and has the full 500w available on it's single 12v rail so will be more than enough. It may get noisy though. Anandtech did a review of that card and total system power draw peaked at 384w while gaming but that was with a i7 4960x @4.2Ghz on the X79 platform. I reckon on your build you wouldn't exceed 300-320w if that much even. Just don't overclock the card as power draw will go through the roof.
