PC 'forgets' HDMI output settings?

Got an annoying problem.

I set the Plasma to be screen 2 and set the resolution to 720P. Plasma works fine.

If I change the input to say Sky then switch back to HDMI the screen stays blank as if there's no signal. I have to then tweak the res of screen 2 to another setting then go back to the 720P for it to fire into life.

Using the Gigabyte 'AMD' Board (Can't remember the model) which uses an ATI onboard graphics controller.

Have you tried enabling force TV detection in the Catalyst Control Centre?

it does the same on my 4850, turning off the tv does it aswell.

nothing worse than being ingame and it does it then as the whole screen goes blank until its set its self again.

it never did it at all when i used the 8.7 drivers but since installing the 8.8's it no longer works with the 8.7's, i'm pretty sure theres a way you have to install things and whats connected at the time when you install the drivers. just haven't figured it out yet lol

on top of that it resets my mian monitor back to 1024x768 too.

I have a similar problem with my 4850 in dual display mode.
If I switch the TV, connected as secondary, on or off, the main monitor switches down to 1024x768.
Tried 3 sets of drivers, always the same result.

Have a look for a small programme called HDMIOn.exe, basically it should refresh your HDMI connection. Obviously you will have to run it through a keyboard macro etc. but it should solve the problem.
