It's great being a PC Gamer, I mean look at the price you can pick most new releases up now for, the average is around £16-£17 quid which then drops to around £15 after a few weeks, This past year I havn't known a new release to be more than £20 :D , It's great for us consumers. It seems the shops can't give them away a few weeks after release :D . Anyone agree with me?

Nope :p Most new Big releases are around the £25-6 mark but i agree that a fair percentage drop in price in a couple of months.

Absoloute rubbish unless you shop retail, look around and you can always pick up new releases for under 20 quid, i've done it for all the big ones this year.

Heres a few i have found

Transformers The Game £24.99
Overlord £24.99
Rugby 08 £24.99
Bioshock £29.99
Medal Of Honor: Airborne £26.99
Tiger Woods 08 £24.99
Crysis £26.99

Of course some of these prices may drop before release, apart from overlord which is out just now.

Most of those prices will drop before release no doubt. Especially when more retailers start to upload them onto there sites. I notice with most of those games only a handful actually accept preorders atm.

For example this year I got

S.T.A.L.K.E.R - £15
Supreme Commander 17.99
CNC 3 - £18
TDU - 17.99

And that's just a handful.

Can't say I've seen any new releases as cheap as under the £20 barrier although It goes without saying PC games are a ton cheaper than console game's. Better quality as well providing you've got the right rig :p

If you look around there are some right bargains to be had, and if you can pre-order them asap, you will get them cheaper than when they hit the shops.

I have had UT2007 on pre-order since 17/02/2005 and its only costing me £14 ;)

That is a bargain, granted I haven't done any shopping around but mine's on pre order for £24.99 :(

True, but on the otherhand you need a pretty good rig what over time probs adds up to more than a console + games :D

You haven't searched very hard then. :p

A 5 second search on a price comparison website (inc postage) brings up.

Transformers The Game £17.95
Bioshock £24.99
Crysis £24.98

Pc gaming seems so much better at the moment, no need to spend £300+ every few years for a new console, I only usually spend around half that to keep my pc upto date. Free online gaming service, half price games and graphics being constantly updated.

With the PS3 costing £400 and the 360 £280 + £40 pa. And the games costing £50. I'd rather wait for the prices to come down and decent games to come out, then buy them for much much less.

yep totally agree. I rarely spend full price on pc games. Last one was Vanguard and the next one will maybe be Bioshock but apart from that i wait till it hits around £15 ish or less. Which isnt long :D

crysis looks like a game which is really worth its money.

So true, was just saying this to willhub on MSN earlier, the game is worth its weight in gold TBFH, hell I'd most likely pay anywhere up to £50 for it. Spending such a measly amount such as £20 quid on such an awesome game as Crysis will be just dosn't seem right. But Hell I won't complain ;) .

Yep, PC games are much cheaper than console counterparts

Why is that lol?

PC games dodge some costs which means they're cheaper.

I'm not sure what that cost is but I read about it ages ago. (Something like this I could be wrong)

My guess is thats is a lot harder to make games on conosle

Takes more time

Which inturn = more expeneture(sp?)

etc
