If people are going to pay the extortionate prices found on games store pages then I have no sympathy.
A few minutes spent searching reputable websites will get you the same product at half the price or less.

I think it all comes down to folks attitude towards games. There's those die hard gamers who will always pay top whack either pre-ordering or getting a game on the day it's released and they buy into all the hype regardless of cost. I personally don't mind waiting until prices drop. Why pay like 30-40 pounds for a new game that will cost less than a tenner in a few months time? You'll still get the same enjoyment out of it and have cash to spare![]()
Well, because less than a tenner in a few months' time doesn't really happen much. It in fact happens so little that it isn't worth using it as an example.
? As a general rule older games will become cheaper over time which is great if there's no rush to play the latest title. Are you being pedantic? As a general rule older games will become cheaper over time which is great if there's no rush to play the latest title.
Well yes, prices drop if you wait, but I'd still say some games are initially more expensive. Buying a PC game at launch for RRP used to be around £35, there seem to be a lot more that are now heading to £50, i.e. console prices.
Do you even known what pedantic means? You said sub £10 after a few months. That doesn't happen.

Yes I do know what pedantic means. I also know what ostentatious means too.![]()
It's also disappointing if you pay full price at launch to find a game is riddled with bugs. Take Rome TW2 as an example, thankfully subsequent patches improved matters but again this eventually became subject to heavy discount. Great for people like me who don't mind waiting but not for those giving the most profit to the developers from the start. I hope they get it right with GTA V.For some time now you can expect to pay around £60-70 for a PC game if you want all DLC content as well & not have to wait 3-6 months for discounts!
They can be had cheaper if you look, hell Witcher 3 was £16.18 before xmas. Dark Souls 2 is another example many pre ordered for £15. I tend to pay around £20-£25 if I want to pre-order. Just need to look tbh. I pre-ordered Skyrim for £22.
I tend not to pre-order anymore though, only games this year that get a pre-order/day one buy is Batman and W3, have been stung to many times with rubbish games. But Batman and Witcher are a buy no matter what.
It's £35 on other (legitimate, not CD Key reseller) sites.

Definitely noticed a pattern of asking prices being higher.
(Although obviously some people must do).I just stay a bit behind the curve now. Doesn't take long for PC games to get to the sub £10 mark these days. Most are in the bargain bins within 6 months
