So thought I'd ask here, see my spec in signature, sometimes in evening I'd rather be downstairs on sofa in front of my fire with disarrono playing on my PC and I can't as it's upstairs in atic in my man cave.

I have tried steam link and it was impossible it couldn't even stream lego games this was on wired and wireless.

Is there any other means? I know of nvidia shield but I can't work out if would work better than steam link.

Unfortunately having a mini itx system isn't possible nor is buying a gaming laptop for the odd evening

Steam link wired should be fine.
Play with all the settings.
But I've played Witcher 3 over Wifi to my link downstairs fine.

In fact I played through in its entirety prototype 2 downstairs.

I spent good couple days just didn't work with out being a judder mess, I can only assume was cause I had to go through power line adapters,

My only other theory was hdd games were running off were old and slow they don't have any errors on or anything though

I'm on the phone and don't see your signature. But assuming you have Nvidia card you can download moonlight and give that a go.

How was Witcher 3? I use the steam link wired for most of my games and they look and run fine but Witcher 3 looks like poop when streaming, at least for me.

I haven't tried it since Vega.
However I have a Ryzen 1700 overclocked, I use software rendering set to 16 threads and honestly IQ is spot on.

I wouldn't touch powerlines at all.

Does the Steam Link let you do any speed tests between the device itself and the PC? It does seem like the powerline adapters will be the reason for your issues, they're fine for general internet use but streaming games is a bit more sensitive to latency and bandwidth fluctuations.

When I had the steam link it was always in green for signal strength. Only issued I had was wouldn't always see it until I unplugged power line adapter and plugged it back in.

Use your wireless, that's what I use downstairs and it's pretty solid.
I tried I even went and spent £100 on a new router whilst it improved reception in my house it barely reaches atic,

One of the experimental features of geforce experience allows you to stream to a single client. Client uses a URL and a chrome app and can play the game from their computer. Worked quite well but requires a fast connection, not sure whether it was fast internet or just a fast LAN.
