Does anyone here stream games for a lot of hours online? I was just wondering how much it affected bandwidth and if anyone had ever incurred any charges or anything. I'm looking to stream some games and am on an unlimited bandwidth/usage package but we all know how much they can mean.

Any help much appreciated!

It entirely depends on the bitrate you're streaming at. Surely you could just stream for an hour an see how much bandwidth it uses? It's not difficult to see that info. My router tracks it.

Yes, I stream quite a bit. You need decent upstream bandwidth for high resolution streaming. ADSL will just about handle it at low to medium quality, high quality requires a fibre / cable connection to do properly. You'll need to match your settings to the line you have, but if you're on a decent unlimited plan then you shouldn't need to worry much about overall usage.

There are several good sites to stream to, I use twitch.tv and OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). If you're not using a capture card then it can be quite CPU intensive and you may see a considerable FPS drop in game. So make sure you have a decent CPU and if possible overclock it for best results.

I'm running on a 3770k OC'd to 4.5. I'm on a fibre connection, using the virgin superhub. Just worried about getting charged out the arse in a months time.

Any idea's on how to track bandwidth using the superhub?
