Hi all

I like reading the game threads on here but its always so painful having to sift through 50 pages from before the game was even released. Its nice to come on and get peoples first impressions and see if there are any issues.

I thought maybe this could be fixed by a new rule, 'official' threads could be in 2 parts. Official Pre Release, and Official Post Release. That way those of us who aren't interested in the hype etc can easily jump in when a game is released.

What does everyone think or is it too much?

I think 2 threads is acceptable. Post game thread would remain active after release and pre-release hype would just disappear after a week. Great idea.

We had 2 threads for GTA V. One started as soon as the game was announced and the other when the PC game launched. It worked well as the first op was just a couple of words whereas the new OP includes tons of info and is kept up to date.

I remember that one it was good. Probably what got everyone together online.

I think trying to enforce multiple threads for a single game is a stupid idea.

I totally disagree, too many threads on OCUK are way too long, unless you have nothing better to do than browse the forum all day everyday single threads are a pain. They should be split into sub-forums, is so many comments are coming they should be laid out in a structured manner.

Andi.

This depends on the posters rather than the moderating team. A poster should not rush to be the first to tell the board about a new release but make sure he or she is capable and willing to update the first post for months of years afterwards. They could even have a link on the OP to the thread's first page, post-release, and so on.

Winner?

I'd rather not see lots of threads for one games, and to be honest the current hype and then release talk in the same thread is no issue for me, I just tend to go to the last page anyway.

As I'm not interested in hype, pre-ordering, alphas, betas or early access I simply don't take part most of the time. If I have something specific I use search (although it is garbage on these forums) then beyond i have jumped into the big threads and go to the last page.
