PC Gamer magazine

Rubbish, has been for years IMHO.

Couldn't agree more. These magazines are a relic of an old era. They are dying out fast.

Most of the "gaming journalism" sites are nothing much then a publishing arm for big publishers.

Try gaming nexus, they seem pretty good at the moment.

I cancelled my subscription to pc gamer last month. Just doesn't seem worth it anymore. It's sad as I would love to subscribe to a proper physical mag, if there was a really good, entertaining one. Like PC Zone used to be.

EDIT - how weird is that! PC gamer literally just dropped through the letter box - last issue I will receive after cancelling. It looks a good one too - big Star Wars battlefront and other feature, and good gta5 review. Toilet time!

Maybe. I've recently (few months) started reading RPS, and have been thoroughly impressed. I've not read as much of them, but Eurogamer and Giant Bomb seem ok too.

And there's always the rebooted Digitiser, if you want a kick of the old Ceefax magic;

(it's still great :) )

I'm getting old so buy Retro Gamer most months now. Good thing about that mag, apart from recalling memories from my youth, is that game articles and reviews don't need to be kept up to date as its all old stuff anyway :)

The last time I paid for a gaming mag was probably back in 2010. Everything is online these days and I see no point!

Stopped buying PC Gamer yonks ago, pretty much with the rise of review sites on the internet. The writing was superb back in those days though, I think the first ever issue of PCG I got was the one where Thief: Deadly Shadows was the cover story.

Need to get rid of my collection to be honest... Might put it up in MM...

The only PC magazine I ever really got into was PC Format. I still buy it on occasion and always toy with the idea of subscribing again.

Like many have said, reading online articles just isn't the same as sitting down with a mag.

The only mag I buy now is the History ones when im in WHS before going abroad a few times a year. Always a good read.

I read the website regularly even though it is a bitcrap- specifically Chris Livingstone's joke articles on crap survival games. Their reviews are alright but their news usually comes from Kotaku or similar

I used to buy them very occasionally, and then for a while got copies free from work. It was at that point that I realised I didn't care about much of their content. 9 times out of 10 I'd already read plenty about whatever the subject was on the net before it arrived.

Edge tends to be a bit more interesting, but it's also several miles up its own arse at times.
