I think they are going to release a more in depth beta soon.
The current beta just gives you a feel for the game but no combat.
I think its a mod for warhead but they are going to move over to cryengine 3 as it means it will be able to be a stand alone game.
looks beautiful though.

Any good?

I really enjoyed it. That said, its a Square Enix RPG, so if you aren't a fan of their other works, I don't think this would change your mind.

Uses the UE3 engine so scales really well, and looks very nice with all the details set to max. And the battle system is very strange, but works well. Can be a little frustrating at times though.

One of the best rpgs i've played, takes a few hours to get into it as the beginning is easy but it gets very tough later in some battles. The battle system is really good.

The metascore is lowish because of the bugs on release which got patched afaik but never the less rpg fans should give it a go and make sure you got a 360 pad as it makes it a lot easier to play.

Would anyone have any idea how The Last Remnant would play on a low end system? I mean, is it a resource hog at all?

It sounds like i might enjoy it but if i bought it i would definitely play it on my laptop whilst at work over a long period as opposed to on my main rig which will be taken up by Arkham City, BF3 and Skyrim over the next few months!

My laptop(iirc) has a 3470 with 256mb ded v-ram and only has 32-bit windows 7. also a 2ghz core-duo.
Thanks

EDIT- There is a demo, i'll try it out

They released a benchmark which you can play around with. Also, I forgot to mention that playing with a pad really helps. Being able to use analogue sticks rather than just wasd is a massive advantage.
