An open letter to Valve

To whom it may concern,

This letter references Steam's latest addition; Daily Deals.

We, the Steam community, appreciate the steps Valve has taken to better their product and strive so far ahead of its competition. We accept with open arms the new Daily Deals addition and feel the more sales the better. However, despite this worthwhile feature, we are displeased with a particular aspect of it.

The Steam Community demands that you sell only great games. We understand that "great" is a relative term to many, but we have come to expect top of the line service and the games you feature should follow the same path. Therefore, We expect, no, demand, that for a game to be considered a Daily Deal, it must have received, AT MINIMUM, a Metacritic rating of 85% or more. We understand this only accounts for roughly 5% of your actual catalog, and many people already own them, but we feel this remains a big step forward.

We'd rather voice our complaints about the same deals over and over again, as opposed to trying something new. We'd rather not have to deal with change or risk at all possible.

If you do not meet our demands, then we will be angry. In fact, we'll be so angry that we'll write you a letter telling you how angry we are. We'll go so far as to cancel our Steam accounts and never buy a single game again...for a week, and then we'll be back, but angrier! Grrr!

If you have any further questions or wish to negotiate, we will be hosting a community roundtable where you may peruse our story suggestions, fan fiction and costume design. We are certain you will find these to be invaluable resources for your future projects.

Sincerely,

Your Community
