They are pretty bad speeds, maybe time to switch ISP?, I thought 10Mb line was the norm thesedays.

It'll be nothing to do with his ISP in most cases. Assuming its a LLU line, the speed limit will be due to distance from the phone exchange and the quality of the wiring between the house & cabinet.

May order farcry 3 on GMG with 30% off it, so like £25 but doesnt mention steam on the page, but says you need uplay! Can anyone confirm if i can use this on steam?

Game isn't Steamworks to my knowledge, there will be a Steam version but it might be one of these games that the only way to get it on Steam is to buy direct from them.

Ok I must be thick however...

I got my CD key from simply games but cannot find where to download Borderlands 2 from.

I went into steam and it wanted me to submit payment details.

Customer service have not replied to my email. I know its off topic but its driving me mad.

Where do I download it from?

I *think* you can get to the key via your simplygames account, then go to your orders? There should be a link there somewhere?

Should be Steamworks, so open Steam. Games drop down top left, then Activate a Product on Steam and follow the instructions putting the key in when requested.

Nope no link

Sorted thanks. Into Steam, add game cut and past key and it downloads from there.

Thanks both for taking the time to reply :)

You have the key right? It won't be listed in your library until you register the key with Steam. Once done using the instructions I provided it will be shown in your Library list, then you can download it just like any other Steam game.

The gamestop app just hosed my whole windows drive. Absolutely unbelievable, I'm one of the most conscience people when it comes to installing stuff and how is this even possible I have no idea.

I only installed it because I needed the product codes for a couple of games that they refused to provide without the app being installed, so decided to uninstall as I have the codes. Windows add/remove manager simply said that the app doesn't exist anymore and removed it from the list. It was still on my pc so I decided to play it safe, i.e clean the registry, so tried reinstalling the app and got the option to repair or remove, of course I picked remove. Next thing you know half my icons have disappeared. Opened up the main window and my main SSD is almost empty, everything is gone. All installed applications, documents, everything! Only things left were those that the OS needed to operate.

This has never happened to me before and to be honest why would it? Fortunately, I'm also OCD about backups and keep restore points, custom up-to-date windows easy transfer archives and most of my documents as backups on separate drives. I was able to do a restore to last night when I reinstalled the GFWL client for micrsoft flight, also got almost everything back from the windows easy transfer archive from a week or so ago. Will require a little bit of moving and copying but mostly all safe now.

Anyway, all I can say is be very careful with these 3rd party game service apps. Nearly ruined my night and sale weekend.

Never mind just saw your edit AnastieByte.

God that is bad. The only way it will change is if you have a good moan at them, hopefully they'll sort it and it won't happen to anyone else.

I am extremely grateful that I was able to get everything back in less than half an hour, all I have to do now is install a couple of driver applications and Skyrim was the only game on my SSD so that needs reinstalling, fortunately I use wrye bash so a couple of clicks will have all my mods back.

I think I will copy paste the last post to their support, though the only way this could happen would be for them to have a *.* del command in there somewhere. It beggars belief. I will not be installing that app again, probably impact what games I buy from them, too.
