True for software such as MS Office. The reselling of software and license keys is legal in the EU.

As for accounts... this is different. Eg a WoW account belongs to Blizzard and cannot be resold. Similarly characters and equipment in an account always belong to Blizzard.

Therefore it is 100% legal to resell your license key, and the Minecraft software. But the account is on Mojang's server, and is not covered by that EU law.

Plus Mojang and Blizzard can still ban any account they like for any reason they see fit, and the law won't protect you.

Ok, so it's like people selling on their WOW accounts if they've stopped using them? But isn't that against the license agreement?
"This also means you cannot sell or rent the Game, or make it available for access to other people and you cannot pass on or resell any license keys."

The migration is done via the mojang website, it's perfectly fine. If it wasn't there wouldn't be a migration option, ignore mr I hate G2A above hes clueless.

Yeah it's allowed and is done on the mojang website with their own migration option. It's migrating an old account onto a new one which is 100 percent legit. Fox won't agree ofcourse as he's on a 1 man crusade to pay extra money for games. Good luck with that by the way.

I was responding to the guy who said EU law makes account selling legal. It doesn't.

If Mojang are happy for accounts to be sold that's up to them. It's not required under EU law is all.

This explains it better, migration from old to new, google it mr fox if you don't agree seeing as it's related to G2A.

If Mojang allow accounts to be resold why would I be unhappy with that? Did I say I was?

The point I responded to was a suggestion that under EU law it is a requirement to allow accounts to be sold.

It isn't. Blizzard, for example, will ban any WoW account they find has been sold, and EU law will not allow you to challenge them about it.
