They would prefer any payment over just plain pirating their DRM free products.

Nothing to be weary about. GoG have talked about this themselves, stating that they would prefer we didn't, with no mention of account bans or game removals etc.
In GoG's user agreement there is mention of it
"6.10. Please treat this system sensibly and don't exploit it (for example by using VPNs or other methods to manipulate how your location appears) – that's not cool."
However, as above they have commented on this a few times and as far as we know there hasn't been any drastic punishment.
Fair enough then.
Just for the record though, I'm The Fonz level cool.

Why £20 in Russia and more expensive elsewhere? There are some very very rich Russians (if it’s cheaper because they think Russians are poor?!)

Due to sanctions Russia has had very high inflation and currency devaluation.
Which is why a lot of rich Russians move their money out of Russia and into London property and the like.

Are right... Can Russion VPN be used to buy everything online in Rubles? :p Wouldnt that reduce their inflation too? I'll happily assit by buying cheap goods online using Rubles

I have only ever used a VPN to buy the odd game rarely and i would say its only worth it for Digital products.. obviously anything physical would need to be shipped and not cheaply.. therefore defeating the point of trying to get a cheaper product :)
and you need to check the T&Cs of the company your buying from ofcourse

There's a long answer to this but the TLDR is that it's due a number of economic factors that determine pricing in each of the major regions. Russian oligarchs reap the low prices, but the overwhelming majority aren't any better off than we are with our prices, give or take.

Personally I'll probably get this on Steam, but £20 is a great price when using a VPN

if they were worried about piracy they would add some DRM to their games, its more down to the value of russian currency

Have a read at this. DRM means nothing and is often pretty pointless especially when organised gangs are involved.

Its a massive PC market.

Indeed, according to Warman, 72 percent of Russian gamers admit to ever having used online file sharing to acquire PC and Mac games for free, which is the highest percentage in the world, compared to 64 percent in Brazil, 37 percent in France, 35 percent in the U.S., 30 percent in the U.K., and 22 percent in Germany.

Its almost like the less money the general population has the more they pirate. Imagine that

Remember reading an article about Steam opening up the Russian store and how many commentators said it would fail as they just pirate everything. Steam's response was that EU/UK pricing meant that most Russians could not afford to buy, as well as a lack of outlets to purchase games drives pirating.
