hey so ive just been on the look for a new pc and im struggling to find what i want.

I was just posting on here to see if any of you guys/girls can help me with finding/building a PC within the price range of say £400-£500, i would like the proccessor to be a quad core, the meaning of the PC is to run upcoming games to a high standard. Would like it also to be upgradable in the future instead of buying a whole new PC in a year or 2 years time.

Any help with this would be great.

Thanks

Hi Adam,

To be honest with you your description is a bit vague, do you have any preference in parts? AMD or intel? Graphics card manufacturer Nvidia or AMD?

£500 is not a lot of money for a new build if you want it to be upgradable.

As your looking to upgrade the system in the future you may be looking for an Intel i7 chip as quad cores in the 775 socket will not be made for top end systems anymore.
I know little of the AMD chips, but Im sure others will provide the missing info.

So new board, ram and cpu. Do you have any parts you can use in the new system? Case, DVD drive, hard drive ect. Buying all the components will increase the cost and limit you more.

Post more info and Im sure smarter people than me will help you more

Hi Adam

Have you had a look at the System (PCs) & Bundles section?

Base unit prices start around £400. As it says in the previous post, £500 is a bit of a tight budget...

Does your budget include the need for a keyboard, mouse, speakers and a monitor as well? If so, to future proof it I'd say you'd need around £700-£800 for something that will be future proof for a year or two, and that you can upgrade in a couple years time without the need for a brand new everything. :)
