My brothers PC lately has been resetting itself turning on and off ect. It's windows 10 ran very slow i think from the amount of **** on it, was 8gb ram from what i can remember i3 i think. Long story short i tried to revert it to Windows 7 with disk but everytime i tried to boot from disk it just wouldnt recognise it or just wouldnt load it and would go back to a screen that says

now ive tried clicking everything on there the use a device option when i click the CD one just loads back up to that screen. After a few failed attempts i just tried to reset the whole computer using Microsofts reset option (remove everything):

basically around about 80% it mustve failed and said it had to cancel now when i load it back up its just a black screen, loads the zoostorm logo restarts, then loads back to the logo in a constant cycle? I can still enter BIOS settings if thats any help? Is there any way to fix please? thanks!

I've found zoostorm to be very unreliable, in some machines I had hdd,ram, mobo then psu fail...

you will first need to test the ram! then you really need a spare PC to swap all the bits over!

Got to the point I took some back of my customers binned them and gave them different machines

** cannot see the screen shots from work *** ill assume you have tried reinstalling windows

Thanks for the reply! I'm no tech wizard i just know the basics but am i okay testing all the parts with my comp? Like it wont mess up mine somehow? Sorry for being a naive.. also would the reformat stopping at 80% be the problem why it wont turn back on at the minute? Literally was working and was bareable to use with the slowness exception but it still worked, seems like since ive tried the reset it wont turn on entirely.
 
the PC won't turn back on at all now, nothing on the screen, no lights on the motherboard it's completely dead?

Have you opened it up to check it's not full of dust.
If the inside is clean, then there's probably a hardware issue, but I would first try and install windows back onto it and see if you can watch it resetting and when does it do it, randomly, idle, under load etc.

Back in the days of XP, I remember doing an reinstall for someone, only for it to keep failing. I ran memtest86+ which showed me one of the sticks of ram was knackered, so removed it and windows installed fine.

How are you trying to install windows, a proper clean reinstall?

What version of windows did it come with?

If windows 10, download the creation tool from microsoft, plug in a flash drive and let it copy the files over to it.

Yeah i can turn it on the lights come on inside, fans work ect, like i say it switches on but as soon as it does it black screens, loads up Zoostorm logo then restarts and does it again. I opened it up and it wasn't that bad tbh, i still cleaned it and tried again still no luck!

That's the thing i cant boot up the CD from anywhere even when i try boot from drive nothing works just does exactly the same thing as above its like it doesn't recognize it, the only way i can do it now it by somehow getting it to recognise it because i can't load the PC up past the logo.

It came with windows 8 i think but he upgraded to 10? im not entirely sure on that i'll have to check but in the BIOS it says something about Windows 8 options but when it was working as you can from the picture above it said Continue to Windows 10.

I'll try get a video of exactly what it's doing just so you know but thanks for the reply ill try the flash drive option once i get in!

You can probably go into the bios and disable that zoo storm logo, it may then tell you what it's doing when you start it, 'no boot device found' etc.

Assuming there's nothing on the drive that you need to save, (if there is, take the drive out and put it into a caddy and maybe get the files from, depends what the reinstall/repair thing has done)

If your going to give the windows 10 usb drive install a go, use the one time boot method, then select the flash drive instead of changing it in the bios, that way when windows restart during the install, it won't keep going to the flash drive first, which might cause it loop the install.

Any idea how to disable to logo? sorry i have no idea :p yeah he said theres nothing on there that he needs to keep so everything can go.

How do you use the one time boot method? everytime ive tried to boot from drive it just ignores it lmao. Thanks!
 
Also how would i get the Windows 10 USB stick thing to work does the PC need to actually be on otherwise i cant run it? or is it just copy the Creation Tool onto a flashdrive then plug it into computer and run it from boot?

i had a zoostorm once, it was an AMD apu and came with windows 8, i did have load issues and install issues when i did the factory reset, managed to solve it in the end as i was prepping it for a sale. it took a few attempts of reloading(force shut downs), but it worked.

from a general prospective take a stick of ram out if it has 2 or if you have ddr3 yourself then swap in one of yours and test it otherwise try another hard drive or cables.

Yeah that's a few people whove said that about Zoostorm now.

Does it need to be a certain usb stick or can it be any? Like youve put there 'The windows 10 USB stick' is there a certain one for an operating system? i mean i can try the ISO to DVD method but i dont think itll recognise the disk.

Ill try taking the RAM out after ive tried all the other alteratives in regard to the ISO and USB stick! thanks!

Yeah that's a few people whove said that about Zoostorm now.

EDIT: Because when i click to do it via USB it says the device cant be found. I've tried formatting it to FAT32 still cant be found. i mean i can try the ISO to DVD method but i dont think itll recognise the disk.

Ill try taking the RAM out after ive tried all the other alteratives in regard to the ISO and USB stick! thanks!
 
Try delete to get into the bios, I know on my gigabyte board I can disable the splash/logo screen.

And maybe f12 for the quick boot.

Pretty sure you need a 4gb minimum flash drive. Download the windows creator tool to your working pc, then run the tool once it downloads, select the flash drive and the tool will download the files to it.

Thats the thing when i try to copy the windows 10 files to the USB it doesnt recognize it, come up like the first picture:

Any ideas? i've tried formatting it and everything still not finding it.
