PC Just Failed!!!!

Hi,

Just been using my PC. Everything was fine. Went to make a drink and came back to find the screen was blank, but system still on.

Now when I reboot, I get nothing on screen (not even the BIOS screen).

Taken our graphics card and tried another - still same problem. Took out CMOS battery and tried - still nothing.

Any ideas?

The computer powers up, but no bleeps or even display. Hard drives are not loading windows either (as i can see no hard drive activitiy).

Any ideas?

Does pressing numlock light up the LED on your keyboard?

When you say the computer powers up, do you just mean the fans are spinning? Have you tried a different monitor?

Yep - No CAPS or NUM Lock lights appear on keyboard

Yes, I have tried another Monitor

Any other ideas. Seems so strange it just died on me !!!!

power supply fail?
take off all power to all components, turn on see what happens , if it starts connect one thing at a time to see what fails

It sounds like a problem with your motherboard, if it's not even beeping when it starts up.

Have you checked the connectors to your motherboard? (or it could be the power supply to the motherboard). If neither of them are the case then there could be a fault with your motherboard, although other people may have diferent suggestions.
