PC keeps black screening, system is still up but display is gone?

Then it's from that powerlink. At a guess, it already had some sort of resistance that got worst during peak power usage. I would recommend that you stay away from them.
Yes it's definitely starting to look like something like that. The PC had quite a lot of use today and still hasn't black screened yet so hopefully that's all it was, time will tell.

Any luck with the new PSU?

Got the new PSU, rebuilt my PC.
So far all has been well, I haven't been gaming as much as i would like to although i did have a random blue screen today.
Will keep an eye on it but I am feeling optimistic.

Thinking it may just be the age of my RX580, was a refurb as well that i got in a trade a while back.
Planning on grabbing a 3080 and then the real testing will begin :D

Hopefully it was just the PSU then.

So far again all is well, I am still skeptical given this has been an issue at months and the black screen is completely random.

Although for the first time in a long while, im feeling a little more optimistic that it might be solved

Good, I'm starting to think the same about mine, it's been fine since I removed that PowerLink connector. I still have the replacement GPU in there so I'll switch back to my original GPU at the weekend and see what happens, if that is fine for a week or two then it was definitely the PowerLink causing the problem.

Let me know how yours goes?

Im replacing the GPU tomorrow (Hopefully) and it should arrive next week. That will be my final sanity test :D

Haha, well hopefully we're both sorted. Once I know for sure I'll update my original post with the solution so anyone searching the same problem in the future can hopefully find the same solutions we did.

Yea i definitely think thats a good idea!
Well lets hope its sorted for both of us :D

SOLVED! (Maybe, it's looking good so far)

I've updated my original post in the hope that it may help people in the future who are Googling the same issue. At this point I'm pretty certain that the EVGA PowerLink was at fault. I've reverted back to my original GPU and still haven't had any black screen/no signal issues but if that changes I'll update the post once again but fingers crossed that was 'all' it was.

As mentioned in my original post, if you are having this same issue but do not have a PowerLink installed then I would definitely check/change your PSU because clearly any kind of power interruption to the GPU will cause these exact symptoms.

Funny enough, my change in PSU has also resulted in my issue being solved!

We finally did it!
