My PC keeps freezing every hour or so for about 10-15 mins. This occurs in both Windows 7 and Ubuntu. i am uable to click on anything but the mouse does move around. Sometimes the clock pauses then skips. When watching a video or iplayer the sound continues but the video freezes. My system spec:
Asus P6T
Intel i7
9Gb RAM
150 GB WD raptor
1TB Samsung F1
ATI X1650
When running Ubuntu off USB there is no issue. Running Windows in safe mode the issue still occurs. SMART tests of my hdds pass. My CPU temp is around 87C when idling according to SpeedFan.
I've been trying to solve the issue on various forums for about a year now with no solution. Some people think it's the hhd, some think its the GPU, some think its the CPU. Obviously i cannot replace all of them as I might as well buy a new PC.
See for my past calls for help:
