Hi all,

Not too sure what to do with this, I have looked into the error logs and the only relevant one is:

"Some processor performance power management features have been disabled due to a known firmware problem. Check with the computer manufacturer for updated firmware."

This problem normally happens during gaming, but it can also happen when the PC goes into Standby mode.

A quick google suggests that it could be caused because the BIOS needs updating for use within Windows 7, now the ASRock website has no updates to suggest added compatibility (and that is a new one on me!) However, the previous owner of the PC (a work colleague) had no problems running Windows Vista... I also have no floppy disk drive in this PC, so updating would be a nightmare, unless it can be ran from a flash drive (which I don't think they can??)

I am running Vista Ultimate x64 with all available updates applied.

This is doing my head in how :( , what can I do to sort it? :)

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: might be better in the hardware sections!?!?!

Create a bootable usb stick and boot from that (with the ASrock bios file and flash program on there (DOS)). It should work fine.

I was browsing the ASRock website again, and downloaded the BIOS update, when running it, it updated the BIOS from within Windows :D

When doing it, it obviously removed my overclock, as I didn't do it, I am going to have to find out what I have to change :( :p

......now you said you overclocked it.

Your overclock wasn't stable :p

AND NEVER AGAIN UPDATE THE BIOS FROM WINDOWS!

Noooo, it was clocked before I bought it, and only realised the other morning in the BIOS, wasn't clocked all that high either.... Was perfectly stable for the guy I bought it off (a work colleague)

Why shouldn't I update the BIOS in windows? :(
