No idea what is causing it but for some insane reason my PC has decided to start turning itself off, this only happens during games though. Im currently using Vista 64 and recently ive been getting more BSODS in vista than I ever had in XP, with no explanation of the BSOD :/. Its not a tempreture thing because I monitor those all the time, CPU rarely gets above 45c under load and GFX card hovers around 75c under load.

Really starting to annoy me now.

Specs in sig.

Do you get a BSOD before it restarts? If not it sounds like a power issue, what power supply do you have?

Otherwise Have you tried removing the overclocks?

My PC kept restarting itself last year, turned out to be a dodgey PSU.
I've had no BSODs in Vista at all, apart from ones that were my own fault at trying to overclock just a little too much.

When you say shutdown i am guessing you mean it turns itself off? Are you using coretemp to monitor temps by any chance :)

Happened to me and it turns out one of the versions (0.94 iirc) of it causes some amd machines to do a hard shutdown randomly. I changed to an older version of coretemp and problem sorted.

Panicked at first as thought the newly purchase opteron was dodgey.

All fine now though :)
