pc locking up while playing games?

So my pc has started locking up only while im on a game which has become rather annoying, was on the pc for a good few hours yesterday then around tea time the game locked up all of a suden, its never done this before so i just restarted the pc and loaded the game again and after a few min it did it again. Ive tryed a few games and it does it on them too. was just wondering if theres anything out there to help find out the problem, ive tried reinstalling the graphics driver, nothings changed on the pc so i cant figure it out

have you been monitoring your cpu/gpu temps while the game is loading.?

yeah the temps have been no higher than normal, i managed to get a windows error report message up and it just said "Hung"

Check your memory. Run memtest or something.

right its just come up with this

"VPU Recover"
"Vpu recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands"

its kind of like a windows error report thing where it asks you if you want to send it. now i know my card has been on the way out for ages because ive been getting loads of artifacts and other funny stuff showing on games but its still useable for now, didnt want to spend if i dont have too

Is the CPU/GPU overclocked? Temps? What PSU do you have? List full specs when asking for advice on any hardware issue, it saves time.

everything is standard no overclocking.

ati 1900GT all standard. normal desktop work its about 60c on games its anything from 80-90c

intel E6400
gigabyte 965p
2gb G.skill 6400 hz

To me those temps seem a bit high.

Take it you've got the latest drivers?
