PC Needs to 'Warmup'

It seems that recently my PC needs to 'warmup' to be able to boot. It stalls on the "PCI Device Listing..." black screen (screen prior to Windows Boot), and will only eventually boot up when I restart 1/2 mins later. Restarting my PC is fine and it goes straight into boot.

Asus A8N-E
AMD X2 3800+
Corsair 2GB XMS3500
GF7800 GTX
Hiper 580W

Any ideas!?

Do you have your hard drives on RAID? I had this on a previous rig, for me it turned out to be the IDE RAID controller as the moment I went back to single drives it solved the problem.

Used to get that too mishma, but now it occurs even when all hard drives are detected (as you can see on the screen it stalls on). I thought it sounded like a PSU problem, but then I thought the Hiper would be decent enough for it not to be :(. I dont think I have a spare PSU over 250W either which'll probably cause problems of its own

Get that sometimes too, the way around it for me is to go into the boot menu.

It seems to have happened a lot since I "uninstalled" Vista from my other HD in the machine. I'd imagine if I formatted that drive it would not do this anymore.

Dpon't mean to hijack the thread matey, but what did you need to run Dual core on that board?

I am curious as I have that board too and I was looking at upgrading cheaply £100< atm.

rghjones; Sorry I figure I'll mention it before someone else does... The max height for a sig is 75px, yours is 80px. 5 whole pixels difference, I know, but it's enough to get your sig removed :( I've cropped one slightly incase you're feeling lazy :p

similar problem untill I RMAd HDD (drive was only 6mths old)

If you've got the exact same board as me James, it should be 939, so just whack one in. Mine (3800+) costs about £50 now, which is a bit depressing seeing as I paid £229 :p.

My HDD's only 3 months old, and it'd be a pain in the *** to backup 500GB for an RMA. Plus I've got another 2 HDD's and I'm guessing it could be one of those too. Guess I'll just have to put up with it for now! :(
