Think I'm gonna have to try my processor in my friends PC and see if its that.
Why not try the PSU first? That's easier to check and I think it's more likely at fault.

Tried the mobo outside the case on some antistatic surface? Might be shorting it somewhere...
If there was an electrical spike my guess is the RAM is likely to pop first.
as i posted earlier have you tried the m/b without anything plugged in, no cpu, ram or graphics to check if you get any post beeps.
if it does not post m/b is faulty.
