This is bugging me and becoming more frequent, when i turn on the computer it will often hang on the bios startup, not even posting, turn it off and 8/10 times it will work, failing that another reboot and we are away. It does it when i exit the bios too. I have disabled all overclocks, upgraded to the latest bios and tried all i can think off. Any ideas or advise would be welcome. As you can see i get a half post but mouse and keyboard are not operational and the system will stay in that state until i reboot

Hi

I had a similar issue on a of system I was working on a while back, turned out to be a USB device causing it.

On another sytem, it turned out to be a RAM fault.

Cheers

When you upgrade the bios can you clear the pool data? check that out. You could try unplugging and taking the battery out and leaving for a while for everything to reset. Or the cmos reset jumpers. Try taking a stick of ram out just have one in. I see its stopping just before it would usually do that check so its possible its a fried stick.

ok cheers guys, i just got the dvd drive in the post today from ocuk so will be running memtest tonight, i have a feeling it could be my usb card reader which is now unplugged to test
