PC or Console

Has to be a high spec pc really, i seem to enjoy playing games on the pc a lot more, also anything"special" always comes out on both, plus the advantage of having a keyboard and mouse and then plugging my 360 controller for anything else,

and it does so much more then just gaming

Been asked before, and some websites have covered this already, PC.... for the win!....... i'm an old console player myself...... but now i'd never trade my PC for a console.

A console is limited by the hardware, non-upgradable in 95% of the time, and a PC has far more uses on top of that.......

You can sometimes get away with just spending £150 of a graphics card to upgrade, in terms of price/performance, thats cheaper then the latest consoles....

I could go on, but i won't, it's already been said all before..... try the search button... no offense intended. ;)

I'd have a high end PC and a Mega Drive or PS1 or even an Amiga 1200 or 4000 to anything thats out at the moment...

I dont think the games of yesteryear are as good as the ones today.. Personally, all graphics and no game play.... :(

I was disappointed with Most Wanted and PGR 3... They looked great (just using a standard 32" Widescreen Toshiba TV) but they never kept me interested...

If I put on Street of Rage 2 or Mega Bomberman or The Settlers, I can loose hours playing them and I've had these games for over 10 years now!! I was even considering writing a book on The Settlers for like a 'how to do this' type book.... Not yet managed it! :(

Think i have to agree with Phil, but i don't think it purely applies to just consoles..... games have more visuals now, because they sell games......

We sacrificed gameplay for eye candy :( ...

I think Crackdown is amazing! Only played it for about 20 minutes at a mates but it was just so so fun :D

Basically I'm hoping to have most of my fun getting achievements/having fun online with mates :) The reason I want a console however is that I can sit back on my sofa/bed, not up in a chair hunched over a keyboard.

Depending on what sort of games you like.

FPS - PC
RTS - PC
MMORPG - PC
Sims - PC

Racers - Console
RPG - Console
Sports - Console

Real Time Strategy - C&C etc.

I'd add 3rd person action/adventure games (like sonic, crackdown etc) on as a console genre . Just my opinion.

I would love to agree, i just think the wii in graphics terms feels like going back in time, i was really disappointed in graphics and the controls are really crappy in some games, far from what the adverts seem to portray....

Definitely. I'd love to just say "Yeah it's the gameplay that matters, screw good graphics!" But after seeing good graphics in HD I can't go back.

I just wish they'd bring out more Street of Rage 2 quality games compared to some of the things we see today!!

Although that new NFS game does look very interesting... As long as its not long Most Wanted and definitely not like Carbon.... Bring me back the Underground series!! :D

I dunno, i liked Most Wanted but didnt like Carbon..... suppose it's a matter of preference...... Underground was ok..... i just took to Most Wanted more personally...

I loved Underground 2 but always had problems with loading it... Orignal one or orignal one that had a no CD file.. Kept hanging on the loading screen every so often...

But still, give me an Amiga or Mega Drive... Just cant fault them....

I did love my Mega Drive once upon a time, though i sold it and got a SNES, then sold that again and went back to Mega Drive.

I'm so sad i can still remember the cheats for the first Sonic game.
