pc or not to pc

I've got a ps3 and a pc, but to be honest apart from GT5, and a bit of red dead and Assasins creed i prefer the keyboard and mouse combe on the pc by a big margin.

I'm either getting carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis in my mouse hand so now only pick PC games which support the 360 controller. Everything else I play on PS3. But I could never leave PC gaming behind totally. It's been a part of me since 1982 or thereabouts.

Yea thats why I am downgrading to an old setup so I can still do all the things that you mention a pc can do.
A £30 old DDR1 bundle or old laptop can do all the things you mentioned.

The only reason imo people throw money at pc is because the games are so easy to pirate.

Hard times?

Nope I just don't see any point watching my hardware value degrade for the next year or so whilst I play all the great console games coming out and my pc gathers dust.

Sell now and pick up a second hand core i5 750 board and ram rig in a year or whenever the pc has must play everyday games again for £140.
Core i5 750 will be going for sub £100 sooner or later let alone a year from now.

Probably the route I will take soon enough. My 4 year old system is showing its age now, especially since bought a bigger monitor! There's a few PC games I want to play but I can wait...in the meantime I'm running through Alan Wake on the 360 :p

At the moment, i only own a pc. I want a 360 for sports games. For everything else, i use my pc (Driving with G25, FPS and COH)

A lot of console gamers perception of pc gaming is an image of someone sitting in an upstairs room hunched over a desk. It's what you make of it what counts. It doesn't have to be like that.

I have my nice big leather office chair and my nice big monitor on my nice big desk next to the sofa in the living room. The mrs can watch the telly, and i can play games. I get a shed load more enjoyment from being so close to the monitor, lights dimmed playing stalker, graphics cranked with good headphones and sound card than i ever would do from sitting 10 feet away on a console.

It's all about the immersion for me that makes me loyal to the pc. The sharp detailed graphics, top quality sound, G25 and a nice feeling M&KB.

what a load of bs. the only thing you can do on a ddr1 bundle is use the calculator or notepad. you cant even watch 720p videos on youtube. imo only 10 year olds game exclusively on consoles because they cant afford a pc or dont have the knowledge to use/build one. there you go... consoles as good toys make good presents for kids though i got one to my nephew and he loves it!

I think the last time I looked the largest percentage age range for console owners was around 18-24 at about 40%. That was a while back though. It might be different now with this generations price decreases.

It's unfair to just call them toys though. They do what they do very well.

Agreed. I still lose myself and get the odd heart-pumping moment on my 360/PS3. But nothing like I used to. That could be me getting older though :)
