PC Overclock Outside in the snow

2 years ago I put my rad outside the window and got some nice temps :) Who said the 965P chipset can't clock quads? :p

my lowest core got to 15'c last night, my room is chilly at the moment with these wild temperature drops

When i used to live in northern sweden, i used to with my old air cooling well more like just have it outside on a table, on the balconay was cold enough over there did'nt need to bother with the snow lmao.

Overcloclomg in zub zero outside temps was fun, needed a few beers though lol.

are you drunk :p

I love this, everytime it gets super cold people talk about putting their pcs out side.

Personally i love the idea of having a water cooled setup with the rad mounted on a wall outside but the tubing and setup is real tidy. So you could have a warm house but a super chilly pc, as long as you didnt turn the pc off it shouldnt freeze completely.

Anyone done this?

I have had a 25l res outside once. 12 oC CPU. This is how long ago its was a 3.2 socket A AMD over clocked from 2100 (not sure on the base) but was Oc to 2525.

I worked very well in the winter average in the summer.

Not outside, but i opened all the windows in my room and ran a few mins of prime small fft.

10c lower than my usual load temps, didnt run it long as it got far too cold for me, -7 outside tonight, even today at work i was working in a refrigerated dairy store, was warmer inside it than it was outside.

car anti freeze would solve that problem

I linked a water loop into a 25 gallon barrel of water outside just to see how it worked with the cold temps we are all having - The condensation on the loop before I even fitted the water block was ridiculous, needless to say that I didnt take it any further. As much as I liked the idea, I'm not willing to risk my PC that much. I'm toying with the idea of insulating it all up but I'm worried of damaging stuff.
Due to financial constraints and until I'm working again, I'll wait - but once I've upgraded again....
