Hey guys, firstly thanks for your time.
Right well a while ago my new samsung 206bw started to turn itself off between me playing on my pc, it would firstly switch to a black screen where it would flash both analogue and digital like it was trying to connect with one of them. After it did this a few times it would then switch its self of and the only way to get my monitor back on would be to restart my pc, this could happen once a week, once a month or more than 5 times a day to the point of which i got fed up and switched my pc of via the psu switch.
This is continuing to happen now, however thats not the only problem my pc has now decided to start freezing on the 'microsoft windows xp' loading screen (the black screen thats comes up after the motherboard screen when you turn the pc on) it will show the loading bar but freeze after a couple of seconds. Now this is a new issue thats only just risen however i dont have a clue whats up or how to fix it.
These are the things i have tried so far, mainly focused on my monitor proble,
1. Use drive cleaner to wipe off the drivers on my disc that came with the graphics card and installed the newest.
2. Vica Versa to the last one, drive cleaner wiped off new drivers put back on old drivers.
3. Took monitor drivers fully off, switched monitor drivers, put analogue drivers on put digital drivers on.
4. Updated some features on the motherboard.
5. Reformatted the pc totally.
I have done various other little things which have made no impact aswell.
Now the spec of my pc is
E6600
NVIDIA 7950GT 512MB
ASUS P5L MOTHERBOARD
2GB OCZ 6400 RAM
The pc is not overclocked at all, nothing is on the pc.
Apart from these things, nothing else has been happening.
The pc is about 1 year and 1 month old.
One key thing to note about the monitor problems is sometimes when it happens frequently it will display the message 'nv4_dsp' From research i can see that this is something to do with the graphics card drivers.
Any help would really be appreciated.
I am wondering whether its to do with the motherboard, as this motherboard is not the best perhaps after a year its had too much.
Will.
