Hi,

I have several odd problems with my PC, it's been a problem for quite some time but now it go to the point that i have to deal with it!!!

Where do i start!!!

My PC setup
MotherBoard: Gigabyte X48-DQ6 Rev.01
RAM: 2 x 1GB Corsair XMS2 CM2x1024-6400C4 (Matched pair)
Processor: Intel E6750 Core 2 Duo 2.66 (running at 3.2)
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT/GTO
Operating system: Windows XP SP3
Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 64GB

Ok first bios seems to be messed up! see pic below:

I have tried updating the BIOS and this didn't do anything, i even re-sat my CPU and GPU using artic silver but still the same.

Second:
When I switch on the PC it does not show the bios loading on both my monitors like it used to, now just on one. it only shows the other screen in the final stages of loading windows.

third:
Currently my pc will not load into windows (freezes at the windwos logo loading screen), so i am using directory service repair more (or something along those lines) but after some time of use, for some reason the pc freezes, monitors flickers on and off then seems to have closed or minimised the prog/folder i had open. and it just keeps doing it every 10-15 seconds.

I'm sure there's more but need sleep now so will leave it at this...any help would be apreaciated.

Thanks.

Not at that stage of the boot... the BIOS, etc. displays in 'text mode', which means that the display is represented as characters rather than pixels. That screenshot is basically the equivalent of graphical corruption.

If you wanted to check you could boot a Linux live CD or even a Windows CD - if there's still corruption then it's a hardware issue.

there was also pixelation on both monitors before when it showed both of them...asin the exact same pixels where on both monitors

I have also re-installed several times since it started happening and the pixelshave always there...only recently the characters started messing up in dos

could this cause windows to not start up and freeze when in windows (only installed this windows a month or so ago)?

Does indeed sound like a GFX card issue.

Thanks also for making me actually say "wow!" loudly at my screen with that picture! :D

Try press F8 and select the Last Known Good Configuration from the boot menu.

Also from the DOS mode, run "chkdsk c: /r/v" to scan the HDD for any file structure error.

Look for any damaged capacitor on the mainboard.

Hope this helps!

HD is fine, motherboard has those All-Solid Capacitors which seem fine.

Why fix it? ;)

cus my pc don't start LOL

It started like a 1/1.5 years ago where just one or 2 character in bois where in colour instead of white buti just ignored it!

over time i have had problems like the pc freezing when watching stuff on the pc, not it's just completely crashing so i'm quite sure it's a graphics problem just thought i'd check here incase someone has seen this b4!!

Will prob justorder a new graphics card...humm...what should i replacemine with?? any suggestions? (something similar to mine just or slightly better) ideally need to order b4 1pm so i can get it 2mo!!
