PC Racing games

I agree.

You can really feel the cars in LFS, if a car slightly starts to step out, you can feel it, although it does seem like you're driving on ice sometimes.

GTR 2 is ok, but not fantastic in my opinion, its a little too easy for my liking and the AI are morons. If you jump in the Corvette and keep the thing on the track for the whole race, you'll win.

NFS: MW, wasnt that great, lots of play time and lots of stuff to do (felt more like a grind to me, than actual fun). It didnt look that great and was plagued by framerate slowdowns on all platforms.

That's why you should play online in proper races. Racing AI is boring as hell in most games.
 
THe best ever PC racer was geoff crammonds Grand Prix 2

if you can grab a copy of Grand Prix 4 and then download all the community upddates ; tracks , liveries, graphics etc etc theres none better
but remember its a simulation not arcade game, it takes time but beats all hands down ...

mind you, theres a lot of great racing games on the PC but you'll need a decent force feedback wheel + pedals to get the best experience

I got TOCA3 and its quite good, i like the graphics they look cool. The handling of the cars is quite good aswell (feels very realistic) Altho because i just want to pick it up and play i wanna get all the cars/track and stuff but dont have the time to complete all the championships.. I was looking for some codes but cant find any :(

Gunna get NFSU2 tonight so that should be a good laugh as i loved the first one.

Compared to the real sims like rFactor, GTL, LFS etc the physics of Toca 3 are far from realistic. It's fine if you want an arcadey racer with loads of content, but there is no way it could be called realistic.

Yeah im going to get GTL as that looks good, well its been a while since iv played any proper racing games so TOCA3 is quite realistic imo :)

Yeah i think its quite good aswell, only problem i have is the computer is anoyinng and gets in your way, the brake too early and on normal aslong as you get in 1st youve normally won (unless you crash) another thing thats annoying is when you go off the track its like being on ice (altho thats prolly what it would be like in r/l) but can still be annoying just doing dounuts on the gravel!

Online play here i come me thinks :D

Should join ya sometime, I aint tried Toca 3 online yet. I use my Xbox 360 contoller with my Pc and it works excellent with toca. I just love taking the DTM opel Vectra out and gettin those tires red hot and drifting round corners like on ice. Classics with the Lancia Beta is great, Just leave it to Idle and it sounds great!
