Ah ok well that kinda leaves me with nothing after the few days. Don't have any money ATM to buy windows 7 or an IDE drive. Anyway to make it so I can install XP on a Sata drive?

Just thought I'd update, I removed the HDD and it seems it was the problem, also my CPU is idling at about 20 now, my other HDD and GPU is also idling a lot lower, seems the HDD was also heating up everything inside, it was running about 45-50. So overall not too bad, just need a new HDD and Windows 7 now lol

For windows 7 just install without a key! You have 30 days before it says anything and it will never lock you out completely! All that will happen is the desktop background will go black and it will remind you when you switch it on that it might be counterfeit. My friend has been using Windows 7 this way for a few years..!

Obviously you should always aim to have a legal copy! Was your original copy an OEM version?
