Recently my pc has started to randomly shut down when I am gaming, it can be during any game but only happens from time to time and it's starting to get on my nerves. Sometimes it will close itself down after 3 hours but sometimes it will last the whole day. I don't know what is wrong with it. Could anyone help me? The crashes always happen instantly without any BSOD or error message. Just black screen and then my pc starts to restart.

Specs:
Core i5 2500k
GTX 570
Corsair XMS 3 2x2gb ram
MSI p-67 gd-56
Lepa B850w PSU

This is what I found there:

Can you remember when this first started. Did you add any hardware, software or drivers prior to this happening.
There could be a few reasons for this happening.
Incorrect ram voltage or settings.
Gpu overheating.
Unstable Cpu OC.
To many processes running in the background and insufficent ram.

All overclocks are disabled and I don't think Iracing can cause my gpu to overheat. First happened when I was playing FC3 when it came out.

My guess is its either the mobo or PSU that's had it's day. If I had to pick one I'd point the finger at your PSU, 850w is more than adequate for your hardware setup even if OC'ed.

Can you swap out the PSU?

No but I can start saving for a couple of months and buy a new one. What would you recommend?

I still have 2 moths left of warranty, I am considering RMA but if this issue doesn't occur with them it will just be a waste of money...

I have a £100 budget for the PSU recommendations?

Would like something modular so that I don't have to do all the cable management again :D

Go for the XFX or a Seasonic, anything above 500w will be fine for your specifications.

I'd recommend staying away from the Corsair TX series, seems to have a lot of issues with reliability.

My recommendation:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-018-SS&groupid=701&catid=123

Overclockers have stated they will honour the full warranty period (5 years) themselves so no need to send it back overseas if it goes wrong.

I think I would be more comfortable with something of a higher wattage as I will probably keep the same PSU for later upgrades :D

Unless you plan on going dual GPU in the future a 550w will more than do the trick. Hardware is becoming more efficient each generation.
