Hey Guys,

I built a new computer around April (Specs in siggy) and have had no real problems all working fine.

Recently though when switching on the computer, while its booting up and it reaches the point just after the windows vista green scrolling loading bar the PC randomly switches itself off.

I then turned the PC on again it seems to go straight on to the Windows login screen, i then login and everythings fine, the computer runs normally and no problems.

Any ideas on this are really appreciated.

Usually the first time I switch it on at the start of the day.

It doesnt happen regular but ive noticed it about 3 times in the past week or so

Is the system clocked at all?

If it is try bumping up the vCore a couple of incremnets. (Even if it's not clcoked you may want to give this a try.)

EDIT: You may also want to consider testing your PSU - link - scroll down to the 2 headings for testing a PSU.

System hasn't been clocked, everything is default.

It just seems weird that it will only turn itself off once, and then once the computer is on it will all run fine.

I would still try bumping up the vCore - it's an easy test that may yield results.

And if you have a voltmeter the PSU test is fairly straight forward and a it's a major component to rule out with this type of fault.
