Could someone confirm what im suspecting please, my PC has just started to reboot itself (no blue screen) when i fire up anything that uses my graphics cards. My system has been been fine for a good 6 months with no issues and now this.....

My specs i7 3930k, 2 x GTX680's, X79s up5, 16gb ram, 2 ssd's , 2 hard drives. custom water cooling.

oh and my pc doesnt reboot when i run prime 95, only in 3d apps or games.

thats easier said than done as they are both connected with an ek watercooling bridge lol. ill turn sli off and see if that helps.

Oh yes, didn't spot that. If it's rebooting on any kind of 3d use at all I'd guess a faulty card rather than the PSU.

Right with sli off it works fine.

If it was a faulty card, wouldn't it bsod, rather than just an instant reboot. its like the reset button is being pressed.

A hardware fault can cause an instant reboot, BSOD or freeze. What if you disconnect the power from one card at a time and try running off each individually? Hopefully that way the board will act as though only one is plugged in.

Ok so the cards work fine individually, I've ordered a new psu if it's not that then I will send it back under dsr.

if you have a asus motherboard go into bios and turn on asus power surge protection on and the try and run a game if it comes up with power supply Surges detected on crash then its your power supply

I dont I have a gigabyte board. New psu arrived today, and now my system works perfectly again. Happy days.
