Hi, my pc has just starting restarting!
I Took off the fan on the Freezer 7 Pro to clean the dust
cuz i was getting 40+ idle.

im now getting 30+ idle :D
i have got a pentium d 820
7800gtx
2GB DDR2-533
asrock 775twins-hdtv.

i was playin CS:S and then it just restarted no bsod.
now it wont get past post, just sits and reading drives/memory.

the graphics card is very HOT, 57C i think it was b4 i started CS:S

any hints? building new pc atm and dont wana replace graphics :(
as this would mean more money to spend on my new build
820+asrock = current old build btw.

I didnt take of the heatsink, just the fan. i had enough room to shove a vacuum head down and clean it, the heatsink is cold but the graphics card gets hot, i will try cmos clean now, but i will have to go in and enable pci-e graphics as i have onboard aswell, erm i suppose i could use the x300 on CS:S untill my new build.

bak in 10 to see if cmos fixes it.

the fan is spinning, and i do get a screen that just stops while reading drives etc. but i was playing CS:S when it restarted, then it got into windows and shutdown again and the graphics card was red hot.

cleared cmos, but at the same stage now except no option for entering bios, guess cuz i just cleared the cmos. but cant even get to bios as it hasnt read all drives etc.

Sorry of course, I forgot you can just take the fan off.. It sounds like you have dislodged something. Make sure all your connections are still tight and secure.

When you say vacuum, did you use the head of a hoover.. was it metal?

erm i got into windows, but now its just a pain in the ass! i unplugged my sata hdd! which contains all my neccesary stuff and spare space :'(, i checked bios and it set sata to raid but i didnt have raid to set to ahci or what ever it was. didnt make a difference. i was running 2 IDE HDD's 1 sata hdd and 1 sata dvdrw and 1 IDE dvdrw and all was fine? what to do people???? :'( help me plz, now im in windows and know the prob, yes? i will reboot and connect sata again :D back in a while

my os was on a IDE hdd, i unplugged my sata hdd and try booting and got into windows.
then i turned off the pc and plugged my sata hdd into a different sata port on the board, now windows is working the same.
so i havent a clue really why it didnt want to work.

As a side note. Make sure that you do not have the option to reboot your PC automatically when a Bluescrren occurs as this can give the impression that a system is just rebooting when it in fact bluescrrening

Control panel/system/advanced/start-up and recovery

Remove the tick in "automatically restart"

Just a thought.
