I have some questions that i hope some of you can answer:
1)
I would like to know what you people out there think of which i harddrive i should get?
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB 3200KS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Or
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB ST3320620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache

2)
Also would like to know if anyone has tried using thier CPU's warrenty for any reason after using a different HSF than supplied with the retail version. Did they find out that you used a different one and voided your warrenty?

3)
Is DX10 worth waiting for?
Will my HIS ATI Radeon X1900 ICEQ3 SILENT Heatpipe ***Crossfire Edition*** 512MB GDDR3 (PCI-Express) - Retail be able to use the same tech a DX10?

4)
is the 2GB Corsair XMS2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit abit OTT for a non overclocked system?

Thanks For All Your Help

Amrit ;)

Edit: Oo forgot to say i wont be overclocking at all (well maybe in the far far far far far far far far future) :p

if your not going to overclock you might as well just the retail version of CPU and use their HSF.
If you are not going to go crossfire theres no point in getting one crossfire edition card. If you are sticking with just one GPU and no overclocking, I would say the PSU is overkill. a 500-600W PSU will be more than plenty.

I plan to get 2 ati cards later but 1 for the moment. Thats why i thought might aswell get a psu that can alst me along time rather than me ahving to buy a whole new one for when i get another card. :D

The thing about the oem version is that it only has 1 years warrent:S Im kinda a scardy-cat and want to have max protection i can get. :(

Welcome to the forums, it does looks good. The Ram might be overkill slightly but for the price you are probably as well to get it on the same principle as the 700w PSU, you might need it in the future, although personally I'd suggest the Geil PC6400 2gb as it will save you about £25 and the specifications are as good. :)

I'd go for the 7200.10, it is the faster of the two drives.

The heatsink and fan you use shouldn't matter in the event of a warranty claim, as long as you aren't totally ham-fisted CPUs are reasonably robust.

ty for input.

one more advice i need.

As you can see im buying 2 different cathodes for the pc.
The case is Thermaltake Tsunami Dream 3000 (they put it abck up yay:D was gna buy from somewhere else when they took down) and was wondering if doing a blue dual cathode and a uv dual cathode looked good. Or should i go for another mix or just single colour cathode.

Edit:So just to summarise into 2 simple questions:

1)is it worth having a blue cathode or uv cathode to light up the uv reactive cables?

and

2)Can you see the uv light or is it purple?

hmm, well i seen some that are completel invisible and when something uv reactive comes in contact with the uv light it glows.

:S Please if people can input some more, it would be very much appriciated:D :D:D

The UV cathodes do give off a purple light yes.

Have you had a look at the case gallery in the cases section? I think there might be some picks of rigs with UV lights in there....

semi-pro waster, what is the exact difference between the ram stick u recommended and the one i put down?

also can you work out wats the wattage this rig will take approximatl? still not sure on the 600w or 700w psu so if u can somehow work that out for me it would be great.:D

Decided to go with just 1x dual uv lights or maybe 2x dual.

Also am getting 2x sata dvd-rw drives instead of pata ones

edit: oh btw can u take in 2x gfx cards

The difference between the Ram is basically the price, the specifications are the same but for some reason the Geil seems to be a bit of a bargain comparatively speaking. Either will do but I know a lot of people pick the Geil because of the price.

I've just run your rough system through a PSU calculator and it comes up with a figure of around 530w required including an overclock to 3.4ghz and I did put in a Crossfire graphics card setup but feel free to check for yourself and play with the configurations. :)
