Ok having a problem that I cant understand why this is happening.
Today I went and got a Arctic cool 850wat PSU from a shop because my old PSU went pop.

Intel Quad Q8400-- watercooled
4 gig Ram
Radeon HD 7970 oc edition
Windows 7 64bit
Antec 900 casing
Arctic cool 850 wat PSU
Razer Arctosa Black Edition keyboard
Razer Imperator Battlefield 3 gaming mouse.

only been happening while playing battlefield 3 for around 15 mins then pc just shuts off.

I have checked temps while playing and all was fine
TEMPS

PSU-4 cores stayed around 40oc

GPU-fan controlle never let it go over 60oc

Re-seat your Heatsink. Your computer will be shutting down to prevent damage to the CPU when it's getting no power to cool it down, or it's having issues cooling it down.

It could be a PSU issue, since that's what you've replaced or you may have nudged something inside your build when putting it in.

I have just tried furmark to test GPU and soon as I pressed to test it the pc shut down, I would have thought 850 wats was plenty to power the 7970 and my system.

850W is more than enough but you bought a cheap power supply which wont deliver 850W in the first place an the Amp's on the 12V rail wont be anywhere near powerful enough for a high end GPU.

No worries. That PSU I linked is of top quality so it will easily handle your rig. The shop you bought the 850W did they advise it for you?
